Workouts for Vacation

Hi loves❤️

Today is our first full day on the beach. I am so excited to soak in the sun this week, but wanted to keep a little bit of my routine the same. To do this, I came up with a few workouts I can use while on the beach. This will also help me stick to my routine when we return from vacation. These workouts will be done with far less equipment than I am used to – but that is the beauty of beach workouts.

The only equipment I brought with me is a assortment of resistance loops. The workouts below use mostly body weight and can be done down by the pool or even at the beach.

Yoga on the beach

I am excited to do some Yoga on the beach each and every morning. I currently do a little yoga each morning to get stretched and ready for the day. It will be such a treat to do this with the sand within my toes. Here are a few yoga flows I do each morning. I hold each position for 8 breaths before moving onto the next move.

  • Flow 1
    • Child Pose
    • Cat Pose
    • Cow Pose
    • Downward Dog
  • Flow 2
    • Mountain Pose
    • Side Stretch
    • Back Bend
    • Forward Fold
  • Flow 3
    • Chaturanga
    • Cobra Pose
    • Downward Dog
  • Flow 4
    • Warrior I
    • Pyramid Pose
    • Warrior III

You can find the info-graphic on this flow here.

Ab Workout

This is my go-to Ab routine I use at the gym. It is definitely a killer if you do each move once before resting for 30-45 seconds.

  • Crunches 3 x 15
  • Flutter Kicks 3 x 30
  • Toe Touches 3 x 20
  • Cross Leg Crunches 3 x 20 each side
  • Heel Touches 3 x 20
Leg Workout

My favorite way to work my legs is by far lifting weights – but on vacation you have to work with what you’ve got. I am bringing my resistance loops to help increase the intensity of these exercises. I do each move once before resting for 30-45 seconds.

  • Pulse Squats 4 x 12
  • Glute Kickback 4 x 10
  • Leg Glute Bridge 4 x 12
  • Lying side leg lift 4 x 12
  • Fire Hydrants 4 x 12

One reason I love cardio so much is there are many different ways to get your cardio in. For vacation, I haven’t quite decided what route I want to run this week. Typically, I like to look around at the area we are staying, then map out a loop I can run. I doubt I will be running very long since it is incredibly hot in Florida this time of year. My hope is to get in 2 cardio sessions this week.
